Dr. Covert himself directly provides for both emergency and long-term psychiatric treatment and second opinions to patients (particularly those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, ADHD).
We are able to provide the latest and most advanced computerized psychological and occupational testing right here in our Houston offices. Having this in-house capability speeds accurate diagnosis and enhances the efficiency and efficacy of your treatment. We provide a full range of psychiatric services including individual outpatient psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, medical biofeedback training and referral for hospitalization when necessary. Your care will not be delegated to non-medically trained psychiatric nurses or physician assistants.

If you should have a problem when our office is closed, you can reach Dr. Covert’s answering service at 713-975-1975. The service will take your name, phone number and message. Please tell the operator at least the general nature of your problem and whether or not it is an emergency. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Ordinarily, Dr. Covert is available through the 24-hour answering service. If you cannot reach him, and your situation requires immediate attention, call your family doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
Appointments
Twenty-four hour notice during regular office hours is required to avoid charges for cancellation of all office visits. Cancellations of Monday appointments must be made prior to noon on the preceding Friday.
Psychiatry Consultations, Referrals and Medical Records
Occasionally, your medical history may prompt Dr. Covert to seek the opinion of another medical specialist. If you have been under the care of another doctor or psychiatrist, please let Dr. Covert know.
A physical examination may be recommended in order to rule out underlying medical illnesses and to clear you for taking medication that Dr. Covert may prescribe for you. If you do not have a family doctor and have not had a recent physical, we will provide a referral for you.
Your medical record is confidential and will generally not be released without written authorization.
Our professionally appointed office is conveniently located in Southwest Houston near the Galleria at 7700 San Felipe Street, Suite 140. Ample free parking is available in front of the building. Covered parking is available in the parking garage accessed from the east side of the building.
